About The Client

Quanna offers a unique CBD-infused sex lubricant as their hero product. Due to the restrictions on online advertising for cannabis and CBD-related products and a limited email list, they primarily rely on organic website traffic for customer acquisition.

To increase the efficiency of this sales channel, which is often neglected by CBD brands, they knew they needed help.

The Challenge

The main challenge faced by Quanna was the need to increase its website traffic, rank its main product on Google’s first SERP (search engine results page), and target relevant keywords associated with its website, niche, and product.

Since online ads were not an option for CBD products, it was crucial to maximize their organic visibility and build authority in the CBD market and sexual wellness community, specifically within the top research results for the CBD lube market.

The Solution

To achieve these desired results, we implemented a comprehensive SEO strategy tailored to their specific needs, involving different angles:

Technical SEO

We conducted a thorough website audit using tools like Screaming Frog and SEMRush to identify technical issues hindering proper indexing and ranking by Google.

We addressed problems such as missing meta descriptions, titles, and H1 tags, fixed broken links, and resolved 404 errors. Additionally, we optimized the website's speed for improved user experience.

Keyword Research

Our team performed extensive keyword research, focusing on two tiers of keywords. The 1st tier was transactional keywords with purchase intent, low competition, and substantial search volume.

By identifying relevant keywords that aligned with the client's target audience, we laid the foundation for the subsequent steps of the SEO process.

The 2nd tier was keywords and search queries with informational intent that related to the CBD lube and sexual wellness industry. These informational keywords were also low in KD (keyword difficulty) to rank quickly. This is what we call low-hanging fruits to get quick wins for the client.

Keywords with medium or difficult KD were a second priority, but still important to optimize for with a long-term goal.

On Page SEO

Using the selected 1st tier target keywords, we optimized each transactional page, including meta titles, descriptions, H1, H2, and URLs.

On-page content for these transactional pages was also optimized for selected 1st tier keywords as well as semantically related keywords to the product. These transactional pages become our pillar pages.

Additionally, we created valuable content around the main product and collection pages ensuring that each blog article incorporated primary, secondary, and semantically related keywords that were internally back-linked to the main transactional pages. This is known as content clusters.

Blog Content

The creation of engaging and informative blog content played a vital role in establishing the website's topical authority.

The blog articles focused on answering users' questions related to the products as well as other sexual wellness topics. All blog content incorporated strategic keywords to reinforce the site's SEO efforts.

We published five blog articles per week to maintain a consistent flow of fresh content.
